There are a number of great volleyball leagues on offer for the youth of Mississauga, with assorted programs offered to youth ranging from the ages of 6 to 18, who have differing experience in the sport. There is a non-profit club in Mississauga, where several of the finest Youth Volleyball League Mississauga facilities exist. The coaches at this club are NCCP licensed who inspire youth and are wonderful teachers. This is one of the top clubs Canada, as it has won 20 Provincial and 10 National titles.

Opportunities are accessible to young partakers to acquire and cultivate skills and to compete in full games. Participants can play in these leagues from fall to spring. Nevertheless, beach classes are available during the summer months.

Players are able to choose between two standards of skill to participate in, that is, there are skills advancement and high-performing leagues. The skills enhancement classes are co-ed, while the more advanced leagues operate separately for young men and women. What is more, high-performance training provides a space for accomplished players involved in their school line-ups, but who require a more demanding standard of competition.

There are several leagues in this area, most of which run for 8 to 10 weeks. For example, the Development League is presented for a duration of 10 weeks. Its objective is to train players between grade 5-8 in the essentials of the sport by means of a combination of coaching, exercises and contest. Members of this one should have a basic understanding of the sport and a moderate standard of skill. Players are allocated specific squads for the period of time that the ranking runs for. Friends are allowed to choose to be members of the same teams, concerted efforts are undertaken for them to remain together if they so wish.

A moderate ability standard group - the Champions League, is an option for older players, between the grades 7-8 and 9-12. This is more demanding, as attention is concentrated on players' proficiency - opportunities for "touches" are increased and rallies expend more time. The Development and the Champions Leagues are organized as matches, culminating in a tournament.

A progressed ranking for females between grades 7 - 8 and 9 - 12, called the GTA Premier is presented here. These girls should be highly adept at the sport and possess an elevated degree of skill. Proficiency is honed in throwing, serving, striking and defense. The organization of this ranking is configured differently to the intermediate ones, in that prizes are presented to all the teams, with the special awards of Bronze, Silver and Gold being bestowed upon the top three teams.

The top boys' one is also targeted at pupils between grades 7 - 8 and 9 - 12. Members are expected to have very progressed abilities or should participate in their school squads. Training consists of a blend of teaching and intervals spent actually playing.

The leagues offer an excellent opportunity to teach young people the importance of hard work and discipline, as well as team work. It provides a positive platform for community involvement and strengthening. Simultaneously, because these leagues are offered at both intermediate and advanced levels, there is a sense that there is a place for everyone who wishes to participate in this sport. This is encouraging, as it signifies that there is space for camaraderie and growth of all individuals in the sport.
